These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Website and your interactions with Vias Baseball. Additional agreements, registration terms, waivers, releases, and policies may apply to a particular baseball camp or team trip.

By accessing or using this Website, submitting an inquiry, or registering for a Vias Baseball experience, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

ABOUT VIAS BASEBALL

Vias Baseball provides organized baseball camps and team-travel experiences in the Dominican Republic. Experiences may include competitive baseball games, training, accommodations, meals, in-country transportation, cultural activities, service opportunities, excursions, and other scheduled activities.

Vias Baseball is operated by:

The Straley Project
A United States 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
EIN: 85-0947825

Payments for Vias Baseball camps, trips, registration, lodging, transportation, or related services are payments for services and are not charitable contributions.

Donations made separately to The Straley Project may qualify as charitable contributions to the extent permitted by law.

You agree to use this Website only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not interfere with the Website, its operation, or the rights and safety of others.

You may not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website, its accounts, servers, or systems
  • Use the Website for fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or unlawful purposes
  • Introduce viruses, malicious software, automated attacks, or harmful code
  • Interfere with the security or operation of the Website
  • Collect information about other users without authorization
  • Impersonate another person or organization
  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit Website content without written permission

We may restrict or terminate access to the Website when we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.

BASEBALL CAMPS AND TEAM TRIPS

Vias Baseball experiences may include:

  • Baseball games and training
  • Games against Dominican teams
  • Baseball-facility or professional-academy visits
  • Hotel accommodations
  • Meals
  • Airport and in-country transportation
  • Cultural activities
  • Community-service opportunities
  • Excursions and scheduled group activities
  • Bilingual or local support

The exact inclusions for each experience will be identified on the applicable trip page, registration page, proposal, invoice, or participant agreement.

Participation may require completed registration forms, medical information, emergency contacts, passports, travel authorizations, waivers, releases, conduct agreements, media permissions, or other documentation.

PRICING AND PAYMENT

Unless a different written proposal or registration offer applies, the published standard Vias Baseball camp price is:

  • $2,495 per player
  • Seven days and six nights
  • Double-occupancy lodging
  • $500 deposit per player
  • Remaining balance due 60 days before departure
  • Airfare is not included
  • Parent or additional family-member rate: $800 per person, when applicable and subject to availability
  • Private-room supplements or other upgrades may cost an additional amount

Prices, inclusions, room arrangements, and payment schedules displayed during registration or contained in an accepted written proposal control if they differ from the general information above.

Payments are not considered complete until they have been successfully processed and confirmed.

We may correct typographical, technical, or pricing errors before confirming a registration. We will not change a confirmed participant’s price solely because a later advertised price changes, except when mutually agreed or when additional services are requested.

DEPOSITS, CANCELLATIONS, AND REFUNDS

Deposits, registration payments, cancellations, credits, and refunds are governed by the Vias Baseball Refund and Cancellation Policy in effect when the registration is made, together with any trip-specific written terms.

Before submitting payment, participants should review the applicable refund and cancellation terms carefully.

Certain payments may become nonrefundable after Vias Baseball commits funds to hotels, transportation companies, facilities, activity providers, or other third parties.

Failure to attend, late arrival, early departure, removal for misconduct, missing travel documents, or denial of entry by a government authority may affect refund eligibility.

REGISTRATION AND CONFIRMATION

Submitting an inquiry does not reserve a place.

A place is reserved only after:

  • Required registration information has been submitted
  • The required deposit or payment has been received
  • Registration has been accepted or confirmed by Vias Baseball
  • Any required participant agreements have been completed

Availability may be limited. Vias Baseball may establish minimum or maximum participation requirements for a particular camp or departure.

If a required minimum is not reached, Vias Baseball may modify, postpone, combine, or cancel the affected experience in accordance with the applicable Refund and Cancellation Policy.

PARTICIPANTS UNDER 18

A parent or legal guardian must complete or authorize registration for any participant under 18 unless registration is being coordinated through an authorized school, team, academy, coach, or organization under a separate written agreement.

The registering adult represents that they have the legal authority to:

  • Register the minor
  • Provide required information
  • Approve participation
  • Accept applicable agreements
  • Make decisions concerning travel and emergency care as permitted by law

Vias Baseball may require a parent, guardian, coach, chaperone, or other authorized adult to accompany a minor.

Individual players participating outside a complete team may be required to travel with a parent or legal guardian.

PASSPORTS AND TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Participants are responsible for obtaining and maintaining:

  • A valid passport
  • Required visas or entry documents
  • Parental travel consent documents
  • Medical or vaccination documentation when required
  • Any other documents required by the United States, the Dominican Republic, an airline, or another applicable authority

Participants are responsible for confirming that their passport validity meets current entry and airline requirements.

Vias Baseball is not responsible for losses caused by missing, expired, inaccurate, delayed, or insufficient travel documents or by a participant’s denial of boarding or entry.

AIRFARE

Unless expressly included in a written offer, airfare to and from the Dominican Republic is not included.

Participants are responsible for purchasing and managing their flights and for providing accurate arrival and departure information.

Vias Baseball is not responsible for airline cancellations, delays, schedule changes, missed connections, baggage issues, or airline charges. Participants should consider purchasing refundable airfare or appropriate travel insurance.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

Participants should consider coverage for:

  • Trip cancellation or interruption
  • Medical care outside the United States
  • Emergency evacuation
  • Flight delays or cancellations
  • Lost or delayed baggage
  • Illness, injury, or family emergencies

Insurance policies contain limitations and exclusions. Participants are responsible for reviewing and selecting coverage appropriate for their circumstances.

Unless expressly stated in writing, travel insurance is not included in the registration price.

HEALTH AND MEDICAL INFORMATION

Participants are responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically able to participate.

Participants or their parents or guardians must disclose relevant medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs, medications, accessibility requirements, or other information reasonably necessary for safe participation.

Vias Baseball may require medical authorization or clearance when appropriate.

In an emergency, Vias Baseball representatives may contact emergency services or seek medical assistance when reasonably necessary. Participants are responsible for medical, transportation, evacuation, and related expenses not otherwise covered by insurance or an applicable written agreement.

INHERENT RISKS

International travel and athletic participation involve inherent risks.

These risks may include:

  • Injury during baseball games, training, transportation, excursions, or other physical activities
  • Illness or exposure to unfamiliar environments
  • Transportation accidents or delays
  • Weather and natural events
  • Crime, political conditions, or civil disruptions
  • Limited access to medical care
  • Changes in local conditions
  • Actions or omissions of independent third parties

Participants may be required to sign a separate waiver, release, assumption-of-risk agreement, or medical authorization before participation.

Nothing in these Terms replaces a trip-specific waiver or participant agreement.

PARTICIPANT CONDUCT

Participants must:

  • Follow reasonable safety instructions
  • Follow team, hotel, facility, transportation, and activity rules
  • Treat participants, staff, coaches, residents, and partners respectfully
  • Comply with applicable laws
  • Avoid behavior that endangers themselves or others
  • Refrain from harassment, violence, theft, illegal drug use, or other serious misconduct

Vias Baseball may restrict or end a participant’s involvement when conduct creates a safety risk, materially disrupts the experience, violates the law, or breaches an applicable agreement.

When a participant is removed for misconduct, the participant or responsible parent or guardian may be responsible for additional transportation, lodging, supervision, or return-travel expenses. Refunds may not be available.

ITINERARY AND SCHEDULE CHANGES

Itineraries are examples of the planned experience and are not guarantees that every listed activity will occur exactly as described.

Vias Baseball may make reasonable changes to:

  • Baseball opponents
  • Game times and locations
  • Training activities
  • Academy or facility visits
  • Hotels or room arrangements
  • Transportation
  • Meals
  • Excursions
  • Service activities
  • Guides, coaches, or local partners
  • The order or timing of scheduled activities

Changes may be necessary because of weather, field conditions, availability, safety concerns, transportation issues, local conditions, government action, supplier changes, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

When a specific activity becomes unavailable, we may substitute a reasonably comparable activity when practical.

PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL AND ACADEMY EXPERIENCES

References to MLB organizations, professional baseball academies, professional facilities, players, or related experiences describe potential itinerary elements.

Unless expressly confirmed in writing:

  • Academy visits are subject to permission and availability
  • A particular MLB organization is not guaranteed
  • Meetings with players, scouts, coaches, or executives are not guaranteed
  • Vias Baseball is not affiliated with or endorsed by Major League Baseball or any particular MLB organization

Third-party names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS

Vias Baseball relies on independent providers that may include:

  • Hotels and lodging operators
  • Transportation companies and drivers
  • Baseball facilities and opposing teams
  • Tour operators and guides
  • Restaurants and food-service providers
  • Excursion and activity providers
  • Payment processors
  • Scheduling and communication services

These providers are independent organizations and may maintain their own policies, rules, waivers, and terms.

To the extent permitted by law, The Straley Project is not responsible for an independent provider’s acts, omissions, schedule changes, service interruptions, or separate contractual obligations.

EVENTS BEYOND OUR CONTROL

Vias Baseball may modify, postpone, relocate, or cancel an experience because of events beyond its reasonable control, including:

  • Severe weather or natural disaster
  • Epidemic, pandemic, or public-health emergency
  • War, terrorism, civil unrest, or government action
  • Border closures or travel restrictions
  • Strikes or transportation disruptions
  • Facility closures
  • Airline or supplier failure
  • Serious safety or security concerns
  • Other events that make operation impractical or unsafe

Any refund, credit, rescheduling option, or recovery of funds will be determined under the applicable Refund and Cancellation Policy and may depend on amounts recoverable from third-party providers.

PHOTOGRAPHS AND MEDIA

Photographs, videos, interviews, and other media may be created during Vias Baseball activities.

The use of identifiable participant media will be governed by applicable consent forms, releases, registration selections, or written agreements.

Participants should notify Vias Baseball before travel of any applicable media restriction.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

INDEMNIFICATION

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Straley Project and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and agents from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from:

  • Your unlawful or improper use of the Website
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Information you submit unlawfully

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute concerning Website use that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate state or federal courts located in Utah, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Trip-specific agreements may contain additional dispute-resolution provisions.

SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

NO WAIVER

Failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not waive the right to enforce that provision later.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may revise these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our services, operations, or legal obligations.

Revisions become effective when posted unless a different effective date is stated. The “Effective Date” at the top identifies the current version.

Terms applicable to a confirmed registration will be determined by the documents and policies accepted during that registration.
